Marquita joined the Law Library in September of 2008, and currently serves as the Business Operations Librarian. In this role, she is responsible for managing the business and finance operations of the Library and Law Journals. She also provides reference assistance to Law School students, staff, faculty, and members of the public as well as assisting with collection decisions.

Marquita is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), the Southwestern Association of Law Libraries (SWALL), the Special Libraries Association (SLA), the American Library Association (ALA), and the New Mexico Library Association (NMLA).

Prior to coming to the UNM Law Library, Marquita worked as the cataloger and as a reference librarian at the Supreme Court Law Library in Santa Fe. She is a life-long resident of Albuquerque and previously worked within the University Libraries system at UNM.

University of New Mexico students and faculty know Jennifer Laws from their interactions with her at the reference desk or in the classroom where she teaches the 2-credit hour Legal Research course. She also serves as the library’s Electronic Resources Coordinator.

Jennifer came to UNM’s law library faculty with 16 years of wide-ranging library experience including public, law firm, and court libraries. From 2002 through 2012, she was a law librarian with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals serving all federal judges across 90,000 square miles of Southern and Western Texas. She began her legal information career as the law librarian for the San Antonio, Texas office of Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C.

Jennifer is an active member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Southwestern Association of Law Libraries (SWALL). Her participation in these professional organizations has included work on numerous committees and holding several elected offices. She is currently serving as SWALL’s Vice-President/President Elect.

Ernesto works in the Faculty and Public Services Department of the Law Library. He provides reference service for faculty, students, the Bar, and the public. In addition, he teaches Advanced Legal Research, contributes to collection development, and promotes faculty scholarship.

Ernesto is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Southwestern Association of Law Libraries (SWALL). In 2007, Ernesto received the Earl Borgeson Research in Law Librarianship Award for his research on America's First Jim Crow Law School Library and Staff.

Before coming to UNM, Ernesto worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Washington, Marian Gould Gallagher Law Library, and at the law firm of Greenberg Traurig in Miami.

Logan Migliore was a member of the Library's circulation desk team while attending the School of Law and was hired as an Instructor upon graduation. He currently works in the Faculty and Public Services Department as a Postdoctoral Fellow, providing assistance at the reference desk, engaging in research for law faculty, and working on special projects. In addition he is seeking a Masters of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.

Michelle Rigual joined the UNM law library faculty in 2003 and worked her way through every facet of library operations, holding the positions of Reference Librarian; Co-Interim Director; Head of Technical Services; Assistant Director for Technical Services, Electronic Resources, and Collections; and Associate Director. In 2013, after three years as Library Director and Associate Professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan University, Rigual returned to the UNM Law Library to serve as Acting Director.

Rigual oversees and guides library operations, including public and technical services, electronic resources management, circulation, bibliographic control, and collection maintenance functions. She also engages in budgeting and long range planning for law library programs, resources, space and staffing; sets service and procedural standards, develops and implements policies, and provides training and assessment for student employees, staff, and tenured and tenure-track faculty engaged in librarianship, teaching, scholarship, and service activities.

Rigual has taught numerous legal research courses, including Texas Legal Research Practicum, Legal Research for Small and Solo Practitioners, Advanced Legal Research, Legal Research I and II, and Critical Thinking.  Her scholarship is related to her managerial and teaching role in law libraries and she has developed a scholarship agenda that seeks to move law libraries toward new and innovative practices in order to adapt to the changing environment of legal education and legal information resources.  She is an extremely active member of both the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Southwestern Association of Law Libraries (SWALL). Her participation in these professional organizations has included holding several elected offices, including President of both SWALL and the AALL Latino Caucus.

Before turning to law librarianship she worked in the area of environmental policy and regulatory enforcement for the Army Corps of Engineers. She came to the UNM Law Library after holding positions at the Capital University and Arizona State University law libraries.

Alexandra Siek is the Public Services Coordinator for the Law Library. Her work includes coordinating elements of the Library's public services to law school students, staff, and faculty; the practicing bar; and the community. Alexandra also performs faculty research; collection development; and instruction, including routinely teaching a section of the required second-year Legal Research course as well as guest lectures.

Before joining the UNM Law Library faculty as a Lecturer III, Alexandra performed Crime and Intelligence Analysis for the Los Angeles Police Department and worked in Faculty and Public Services for the University of New Mexico School of Law Library as a Manager of the Research Pool as well as performing Reference and Collection Maintenance services.

As the Assistant Director of the UNM Law Library, Professor Sherri Nicole Thomas coordinates collection management and leads the Library Systems Group of the Law Library. She engages in management of the print and electronic collections and provides reference services to Law School students, staff, faculty, and the public. In addition to teaching the required Legal Research course, Sherri created and teaches the two-credit-hour Indian Law Research course, frequently leads legal research workshops focused on specific legal topics and also presents on substantive areas of law, including Federal Indian, Tribal and Copyright Law.

Sherri is Black and American Indian, and she grew up on the Dine (Navajo) Reservation. Her life in Indian country and her status as an enrolled Tiwa (Taos Pueblo) member have cultivated her concerns and interest in Indian law, history, and current indigenous issues.

Before graduating from the UNM School of Law in 2005 with a certificate in Indian Law, Sherri worked as the Information Manager for Environmental Risk Analysis, Inc., a bio-litigation consulting firm, in San Mateo, CA. She also worked as a Database Specialist and Cataloger for Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, PC, based in Palo Alto, CA.
