NRJ Symposium to Address Water-Energy Conundrum
Finding a balance between future energy production and how water resources will play a role in it will be the focus of a day-long symposium organized by the Natural Resources Journal. CLE credit will be available for the Feb. 12 event titled, “The Water-Energy Conundrum: Water Constraints on New Energy Development in the Southwest”.
Atrisco Heritage Academy Names New Law Center for Professor Montoya
The Professor Margaret Montoya Law Center has opened its doors at Atrisco Heritage Academy (AHA) High School, a state-of-the-art college-prep facility taking shape on Albuquerque’s Southwest Mesa. In addition to the law center named for Montoya, an adjoining courtroom was named for A. Joseph Alarid, retired New Mexico Court of Appeals Judge. The law center is part of the second phase of the new Atrisco Heritage Academy High School, which recently celebrated completion of a 10th-grade academy, a cafeteria, special education classrooms, gym spaces and administrative offices.
Tax Law Club Offers Free Tax Preparation
The Tax Law Club will be preparing personal income taxes at no cost to students, staff, faculty and members of the public through April 15. The student tax preparers are IRS-certified and can offer e-filing and direct deposit. Members of the club will offer the service, along with free coffee, in Room 2424 on a first-come, first-served basis. Hours are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: 3-6 p.m.; Wednesdays: 2-6 p.m.; Fridays: 1-4 p.m. The service will be suspended during Spring Break, March 15-19.
