Albuquerque Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service

- Non-profit organization that will arrange a 30-minute appointment with an experienced attorney at that attorney’s office. Appointments can be made within 2-5 business days, but often on the same day. No financial qualification required.
Albuquerque Human Rights Office

- Assists in providing advice and filing complaints regarding housing discrimination.
American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico

- Legal services regarding protection of individuals’ civil rights from governmental injustice and abuse.
Arc of New Mexico

- The Arc advocates for developmentally disabled persons and their families. They also assist parents in getting SSI benefits and Medicaid benefits for children with disabilities.
Catholic Charities

- Provides legal services for certain kinds of immigration cases; will refer others. Offers transitional housing for homeless mothers, senior support service including transportation services, counseling, adult education, childcare, and ESL (English as a Second Language).
Child Support Enforcement Division (NM HSD)

- Provides assistance in collecting child support. Help to establish paternity and help with court orders. They do not handle visitation and custody matters. Eligibility is open to everyone.

- Legal assistance for individuals who are not eligible for assistance through a legal services program. Includes pro bono, reduced-fee/sliding-scale and free referrals.
Legal FACS

- Legal FACS strives to provide free and low cost legal services to low income persons with civil legal problems through referral to volunteer attorneys for individual cases, direct representation in some matters, and by using volunteer attorneys and advocates to give information and forms to self-represented litigants and victims of domestic violence.
