Professor Eileen B. Cohen

Associate Librarian, Professor of Law Librarianship

Ms. Cohen works in the Faculty and Public Services Department of the Law Library. She currently teaches Advanced Legal Research and Specialized Legal Research—Natural Resources. Additionally, she performs faculty research; provides reference services to students, the Bar, and the public; and gives legal reference presentations to librarians throughout New Mexico. She is responsible for Interlibrary Loan and is part of the Library's collection development team. Her responsibilities are in legal areas relating to partnerships, commercial transactions, securities, UCC, bankruptcy, labor, local government, health, sports, antitrust, banking, local government, and the environment. Throughout the years, she has represented the UNM Law Library by serving on numerous state and regional library committees.
Prior to coming to the UNM Law Library in 1988, Ms. Cohen served as the Library Director for the Michael, Best and Freidrich law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1986-1988 and as the Librarian at Mulcahy and Wherry law firm from 1981-85. Prior to that, she held positions as a reference librarian at Lawrence University and Western Kentucky University.
